Can't wait until January to get Office for your Mac? Pick up any new copy of Office 2004, and Microsoft will upgrade your suite to the Office 2008 Special Edition when it drops, for free (well, except for a $6.99 shipping fee).
The deal is good through January 14, when presumably the new version of Office for Mac is finally released. Customers in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico can all take advantage of Microsoft's generosity, though those in the Great White North will have to pay $10 CND--that's $10.10 USD, for those keeping track.
