Access Windows NTFS Files from Your Mac

While I'm writing this on a PC, a number of people who I know personally and professionally (including several Ziff employees) use Macs. (Why is it PC users feel compelled to disclaim this?)

Although many file formats can be accessed by both OSes, accessing drives formatted by the other's file system can be a pain. For Mac users, Paragon Software has announced NTFS for Mac OS X 6.0, which allows Mac users read, write, and format access to Windows partitions. This could be especially useful for accessing shared NAS drives, for example.

The software costs $29.95. Because it offers no trial period, I'm not sure it's any better than the this free read/write NTFS hack that this site developed. I suppose it depends on whether you fall into the "Keep it simple, Apple" camp, or the Mac user who doesn't mind tweaking a few of the underlying UNIX settings to make things work.
