Cal's Marching Band Does Classic Gaming

Being in band is dorky. Marching band is even dorkier. A marching band that performs choreographed routines to antiquated video games? That just transcends everything modern science knows about the state of dorkiness in the world today. In fact, pretty much everything about this footage of UC Berkeley's marching band is downright transcendental, achieving a state of undiluted nerd bliss.

The band moves through some of console gaming's greatest hits, from Pong to Pokemon to Tetris to the underwater level from Super Mario Bros. I realize that six-and-a-half minutes is nearly an eternity, in terms of YouTube clips, but believe me when I tell you that every second is pure geektastic gold.

Now if only they can get the camera on the right side, next time...
