Google Adds Color Labels to Gmail

If this newest incarnation of Gmail is in fact version 2.0, the company is at least rolling it out in a method consistent with their stubborn refusal to pull the app out of beta mode. The company has begun issuing updates to the service, announcing the new features via the top of the Gmail page, including, thus far, IMAP support and group chat.

This time out, Google has introduced color labels, which are aimed at improving inbox organization. The full rundown for the editing process can be found over at Google's Help Center.

The page also has a Flash demo to help get you started.
